The Purpose of JCOV

• The purpose of a joint cooling project for LHC detectors is to optimize CERN resources in the field of detector cooling in order to give the following overall result:

• Benefit of development already made in various sub-detector groups

• Rationalize the construction/purchase of these systems

• Work for a coherent commissioning, operation and maintenance of these systems in the background of limited CERN staff resources available during the operation of LHC

Executive Board: Day-to-day life of the project The EXECUTIVE BOARD members are:  JCOV PROJECT LEADER : the TS/CV GROUP LEADER  the COOLING COORDINATORS for the 4 experiments,   the PH DEPUTY DIVISION LEADER   JCOV SCIENTIFIC SECRETARY  Frequent invitations are done to expert in various fields related to cooling of detectors
